Those of you who know us, know we don’t purchase things for our family on a whim or just because it’s the latest and greatest. So when I tell people we decided to purchase an essential oils kit, they know this wasn’t something done lightly,
I was first introduced to essential oils in massage therapy school in 2003 but did not grasp at the time that with the right kind of pure, therapeutic oil they could be of much more value than just a good aroma. I started using them here and there to see how well they worked and particularly after we had kids as I was looking for things without nasty chemicals that we could use on ourselves and around the house that would help us be healthy. I sampled and researched multiple different oils, their companies and their methods including Do terra, Aura Cacia, NOW, 365 Whole Foods and others with so so results so when someone told me they were head over heals in love with their Young Living oils I was thinking, c’mon it’s just another oil company, right? Boy was I wrong! Wait until you see WHY we are so excited about these oils.
1. Longest Track Record, Highest Standards.
Young Living has been around for 25+ years and were one of the first companies to really zone in on providing a high quality 100% purely therapeutic oil without fillers, additives and the like. Many companies claim this but it usually means that 5% of the oil in them is pure. That doesn’t keep them from having 95% filler. Up until 2014, I had used and tried many other oils here and there which had not worked nearly as well, not to mention the included additives and other chemicals, I don’t even want to think about how much money we wasted on them. 2. The Wellness Factor
My son and I used to get earaches all the time. My other son would get a barking cough multiple times a year especially throughout the winter. There was quite a running list of health issues. It is scary to hear your child sound like that or have health issues and have nothing on hand that really helps it and having to pay money out the wazoo. Not to mention keeping everyone from getting a good night’s rest. We would typically end up paying at the minimum $150 per illness for urgent care, doctors bills and/or medicine upwards into the 1000.00’s per time depending on the issue we were dealing with.
Not to mention the hours spent at the clinic and doctors office, filling prescriptions, missed work and school ect. And this was only for one trip mind you. Calculate multiple trips and multiple family members and it is insane. Wait until you see the cost difference for just this one issue!
Here’s the Young Living oils we used to support wellness more recently and the total cost broken down into cost per drop. I used 10 drops of Lavender, 9 of Thieves and 6 of Oregano and when you break it down into price per drop it comes close to a whopping $3.00!
I was shocked when I broke it down and compared it to what we had been spending! I wish someone would have introduced them to us years ago! Even my sister in law who couldn’t hardly look at something without being allergic to it loves her oils and uses them everyday. We are so thankful God sent someone across our path to share their Young Living oil testimony and experience with us and that we were willing to take the leap of faith!
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not one of those people who says to throw your doctor out the window. There are many times when a doctor is needed and warranted but it is nice to have things on hand to help you and your family stay healthy physically and mentally, feel better faster, and options for when other things aren’t working. Unfortunately many doctors are not trained in alternatives although some are starting to. Even a few hospitals and cancer centers now use Young Living
3. Membership Discount.
I love getting discounts! We have a Costco membership which has saved us tons of money on the whole and organic foods I buy for our family, not to mention the cash back I get at the end of the year that pays for our membership. We get a similar thing with our essential oil membership. Members receive 24% off the retail price and you only need to spend $50 in a year to retain your membership discount. They also have a Loyalty Rewards program where you earn points towards your oils if you are spending $50 or more a month. And free oils and products when you spend a certain amount in a transaction.
So like I was saying at the beginning, if I was going to pick an oil company for our family to use it had to be the best, most effective quality for cost I could find before spending our hard earned cash on them and it was Young Living by far that blew the others out of the water in terms of company standards, cost, education and effectiveness. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we would love them so much and they would work so well that I would be sitting here blabbing to all of you about it 😊
